Play Xbox 360 multiplayer without Xbox Live

360Even before the Xbox 360 is out it looks like there will be some fun things you’re not supposed to do with them… “Although support for the Xbox 360 was added to Team XLink’s free Kai(info) game tunnel service some time ago, we have been reluctant to announce official support until we have received credible confirmation from our users. Today, [XNZ]Forgiven has confirmed that Perfect Dark Zero runs on Kai! We have also had reports from other users that Halo 2 is running fine as well. Sincere thanks to all the early 360 owners who have been playing on Kai. We look forward to seeing everyone else on November 22nd.” [via] Link and Xlink.

HOW TO – Portable NES in a GameGear

Mega1Leadingzero writes “Inspired by Ladyada’s infamous GameGrrl, I recently became determined to make my own portable NES out of the MegaJoy (one of those knockoff Nintendo systems that can be found in malls) and the recently discontinued HIP Gear Screen pad. However, for my project I wanted to do something slightly different. ThisspartanlifeGood overview of the Machinima film fest and making films in the virtual world, the entries are great! – “Machinima is film-making using video game engines, hybridizing traditional film, animation, and game development. Lots of fun…A full list of festival winners, nominees and presenters are up on the festival site. Big ups to Machinima Man Paul Marino and everyone who put it together. Already looking forward to next year’s fest which will have two full days of machinima.” Link.

PSP 2.50 homebrew looking good…

Psp2-1-2-1-1-1The PSP homebrew community seems to have a potential way to run code on a PSP using a TIFF overflow (again) on the new firmware versions of the PSP (2.50). While there isn’t a downgrader or homebrew applications, this is how it usually starts and hopefully we’ll see some more examples soon. It would be wonderful if Sony would just let folks download a SDK instead, right? [via] Link.
