Video Camera Stabilizers
Scott writes “These are my stabilizers I made based on the instructions in Make Magazine issue 1. I changed it a little by wrapping the pipes with hockey stick grip tape, mounting a Bogen quick-release on one, and the pipes are two different sizes (out of necessity).” Link.

The Melloman – DIY Mellotron
The Melloman, uses Walkmans and cassette tapes to play original Mellotron samples, or whatever cassette tapes you want to put in. Inside the box, there are 14 continuously running Walkmans mounted side by side. The first Walkman is designated for drums, and the next 13 provide sampled loops for 25 notes. [via] Link.
Infrared cat waterer
Flashman writes “Junior Maker – An 8-year-old Australian boy, whose cat will only drink running water, built an infrared switch to activate a bath faucet when the cat wants a drink.” Link. This would go well with our VCR cat feeder!
