The folks over at My Jello Americans made a great tutorial on making Jello origami, or “Jellogami.” Check out their video below. . The “paper” is actually granulated gelatin, water, and food coloring painted over gelatin veining sheets. The origami is faked, we used scissors and “glue” (warmed gelatin and water). [via buzzfeed]

Junk artist extraordinaire Jud Turner is an old favorite here at MAKE. He’s just moved into a bigger studio and completed his largest piece, ever—a life-size Columbian Mammoth skeleton made from “95% recycled materilas, mostly old farm equipment and agricultural tools.” He’s also posted some cool work-in-progress shots here. Prop building is engrained in Maker culture. Motion picture special effects, steampunk finery, live action role playing games, cosplay, historical reenactments, and the theater all rely on props to help tell the story. For the enthusiast, building a prop is a great way to channel enthusiasm for a particular subject and expand the user experience. The research and attention to detail poured into some prop building projects can even surpass the original inspiration in form and function.
