First in a series of shorts from Larchmont Films promoting Brighton’s first Mini Maker Faire to be held at the Brighton Dome on 3rd September (this Saturday). Featured here is Brighton programmer, Jason Hotchkiss, in front of the Brighton Pier demonstrating how to make music from lava lamps. Jason and the Mini Maker Faire team are passionate about sculpting or creating something unusual from the everyday.
The Systematic Annihilation of Helpless Objects Via Robot is an arena full of machines that spew fire and destroy home appliances and other detritus that would normally be relegated to the trash. Here’s another video of one of the many projects I’ve been messing with lately, its a legless bunk set-up called “The Krunk Bunk” that was one of two projects we took on in our Relax Shacks July Tiny Housing/Shelter/Building workshop in MA.
Jeremy Mayer’s typewriter assemblages are sculptural pieces made purely from typewriter parts. In a process he calls “reassemblage”, Mayer fits the pieces together into likenesses of living creatures using no welds, glue, solder, or external parts. He taks about and shoe his work at Maker Faire Bay Area 2011.
