Nathan came to the art world through the staff door, in a sense. He spent years working backstage at Burning Man, one of the biggest art festivals in the world, building the infrastructure and quietly making the magic happen.

Eventually he found himself in a position to design and lead one of the biggest art projects at the event in 2015, the Mazu Temple, and was involved in nearly every aspect of the work. Through this he discovered and fell in love with the world of makerspaces and the Maker Movement, and has been working on bringing together art, design, and distributed systems ever since.

As co-founder of Pollen, he is now part of a team that’s connecting and inspiring makers from all over the world to take their ideas as far as their imagination can reach. He’s helping makers work together on creative projects with a global reach, through MakeItGo, building viable, sustainable businesses with maker entrepreneurs through Pollen and connecting and supporting makerspaces worldwide to manage and grow their membership through MakerNet.
