Control video with Play-Doh

Control video with Play-Doh

Playdoh MAKE pal Brendan Dawes just cooked up the coolest video hack, ever. As I twist the Play-Doh and take bits away, the film reacts accordingly in real-time. Add too much Play-Doh and the film rapidly speeds up. An intimate connection is made between the user and the media. Every action has a reaction in the digital space. No scary buttons to press. No instructions to read. It’s just Play-Doh. [via] Link.

The Cellpod, a cell phone tripod

The Cellpod, a cell phone tripod

Home Anim Expect someone to make a DIY version soon, but this is really neat. Cellpod is a quick attach – quick release tripod for your cell phone camera. Now you can take a nicely framed shot just like a traditional camera and actually get in the picture yourself. Cellpod weighs 2 ounces and can fit in the palm of your hand. It is easy to use and easy to carry. [via] Link.

HOW TO make gapless CDs

HOW TO make gapless CDs

Picture-8 Here’s a HOW TO on copying a CD (with live material, for example) to a single AAC file w/ embedded Track info for duplication with iTunes or listening truely gapless on a modern iPod. iTunes 4.9 introduced “Enhanced Podcasting Technology”. iTunes also has “Audiobook Technology”. This technique involves combining the two. Your resulting file will benefit from both. For example, images could be placed in the file (covered elsewhere) that change as the tracks/chapters do (like enhanced podcasts), and listening position is stored (like an audiobook). Link.
