Interesting homemade tool from Instructables user Random_Canadian. The melt chamber consists of a length of 3/4″ iron pipe, the piston head is an off-the-shelf socket wrench, and the piston rod is a socket extension. A temperature controller, a couple of eBay cartridge heaters, a few tufts of fiberglass insulation, and some odds ‘n’ ends make for a heating system. And a brass hose barb serves as the extrusion nozzle
Mid-century modern is such a gorgeous era and has been permeating the design scene. A couple years ago I made a Starburst Mirror in an episode of Decor It Yourself, and since then have seen countless takes on the starburst mirror. In this CRAFT video I follow up with another version of the piece, and make my own atomic age clock to add to the retro feel of my kitchen.

Stuffed Misfits by Anthony Bielecki are stuffed animals that have been rescued by thrift stores, turned inside out, further modified, and restuffed into creatures with new personalities. These critters were sewn together and shown at Maker Faire Bay Area 2011.
John O’Halloran brought an array of Taiko drums to Maker Faire bay Area 2011, upon which music was played for the duration of the event. Each drum is built from reclaimed wine barrels and each Taiko drumming student is invited to participate in the construction process of their drums before playing them.
