Maker Faire Kansas City is back for the 4th year! Starting Saturday June 28th, the absolutely gorgeous Union Station will be full of 3D printers, knitting, printing presses, autonomous drones, trash built instruments, robots, games, and even battling model boats. This year, the event is the biggest it has ever been with over 300 exhibitors expected to appear to share their work with the public. This is a special year for the event as 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the Union Station, which itself is already packed with railroad museums and a science exhibit that are definitely worth visiting.
This video shows some of the excitement from back in 2012 when there were roughly 10,000 people in attendance. 2013 brought in over 12,000 and those numbers are expected to keep rising this year! If you are anywhere in the midwest, you know you’ll have to make it to Kansas City for this event, not only for the fun times, but also for the world renowned BBQ! Kansas City has built a reputation for its tasty fire cooked meals and this year they’re kicking off a family BBQ contest. Bring your recipes and get cookin’!
