Quin Etnyr, 13 year old CEO of Qtechknow, loves to make circuits. That love of circuits has taken him from just being a scrappy kid with Lego minstorms to building custom robotss, then to making a Makerspace in his garage, and starting his own company – qtechknow – that sells kits. That enthusiasm is also now taking him to the White House.8638494513_11071bdbf7-quin-photo1

We asked Quin what is going through his mind this week

I can’t believe that I was chosen to go to the White House for the inaugural Maker Faire.  It is such an honor.  I have been able to learn embedded electronics because of the open source movement.  Making is so fun, and teaching helps expand the movement.

Quin has contributed tutorials on how to work with Arduino as well as spoken at several Maker faires including Maker Faire Bay Area and Maker Faire Rome. His solid knowledge mixed with unending energy and passion for open source make him a person to watch.

President Obama is hosting the first-ever White House Maker Faire on June 18 to recognize the contributions of makers who bring creativity and technical ability to a broad range of projects. If you are a maker or a friend of makers, please become an advocate for expanding opportunities for making and makers in your community.

I get ridiculously excited seeing people make things. I just want to revel in the creativity I see in makers. My favorite thing in the world is sharing a maker's story. find me at CalebKraft.com
