A room-sized black fabric cube stood out in the middle of Maker Faire, shaking with dubstep, a contrast to the colorful, intricate, visually detailed projects that surrounded it. All the interesting stuff was inside, where students from Valley Christian Junior High had put together a pneumatic roller-coaster simulator.

The dubstep picked up, and a railroad track snaked away over hills and into tunnels. As the footage began to roll, the bench bucked and kicked with each bump, tilted back and forward as the video went over hills, and nearly threw off its occupants as the simulated train plummeted into an opening in the ground.
