This incredible wine uncorking contraption was created by mechanical sculptor Rob Higgs. Inspired by Heath Robinson‘s mechanical drawings, Higgs constructed The Corkscrew partly out of found parts. Other components he based on existing parts which he modified and recast in bronze. Check it out in action in the video above and you’ll see that not only does this hand-cranked beast uncork the wine bottle, but it also pours you a glass! [via The Automata / Automaton Blog]

Wine anyone? How cool.
Fabulous!
Exactly the kind of thing that Mr Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would make!

That may be the coolest thing I’ve seen here.
how do you get a second glass?
Start Cranking…. seems like a lot of energy spent for a glass of wine… besides who needs glasses when you can just have the bottle
Let’s be honest Jesse, you are just mad it won’t unscrew a 2 litre of Mt. Dew.
