Bring A Science Lesson Into The Tub With This Fizzing Bath Dough

Fizzing-Bath-Dough-1

I have to admit that I can’t remember the last time I actually took a bath, but Vanessa Brady of Tried & True makes a good point about it being one of the only times that we can actually get away from technology and the distractions of our modern lives. This is especially true for developing minds, which is why her fizzing bath dough is a great way to keep those brains mentally engaged while they bath.

Now that the boys are older, we love incorporating science experiments into their bath. One of their favorites right now is this Fizzing Bath Dough! I’ve got to admit, it’s really fun pressing it into our plastic dino skeletons and watching it disintegrate in the water (“I’m meeeeeltiiiiing!”) We’ve even started talking with my six year old about the chemical reactions taking place between the citric acid and baking soda (carbon dioxide bubbles) when added to water and he’s absolutely facinated. Learning while having fun in the bath = Awesome!

So, if you’d like to do some sudsy science of your own, be sure to check out the tutorial and help those young minds absorb some knowledge while they soak!
