My kids are finally getting to the age (and height) where helping in the kitchen and around the house isn’t quite a stretch, but I remember well the days when we’d pull up a chair to the counter for baking help. I’d spend half my time just trying to make sure they weren’t going to step off the chair or fall backwards off of it. I could have really used this detailed tutorial from Ana White for making a helping tower for my kids. It’s under $20 to build, plus paint, and it folds completely flat for storing. [via Ohdeedoh]

Rachel, I am humbled to have my daughters Little Helper Tower posted on Craftzine. This is such a fun easy project, and my daughter loves her Helper Tower. She uses it as “Rapunzel’s Tower” when not helping me make cookies and do dishes. We are also planning to add a chalk board to one side. Thanks again for sharing! Ana
ZOMG, this is awesome! I remember being the /kid/ in the story, I wish I had one of these! Come to mention it, I could probably /still/ use one of these… =D
