We’re almost to the mid-point of our summer here, and we are already starting to run low on ideas for inexpensive, fun kid projects to try. I love this DIY harmonica from Maya*Made, and can’t wait to try it with my kiddos.
With a little blowing, they make a satisfying sound that can change pitch by moving the paper sliders up and down. Very cool.

Another similar project, the “Sound Sandwich”, comes from San Francisco’s Exploratorium:

Back in the day, when I worked for a children’s museum, this project was a favorite for us to take to outreach events. The Exploratorium includes the science behind the activity – fun and educational!
my harmonica has stopped working. How do i rebuild it?
