German maker Christopher Blasius sent us the link to his wonderful projects that use some easy-to-build mechanisms to run whimsical clockwork toys. He has one free project – a cat and mouse toy – and one delightful coin bank for which he sells the design.

The instructional video for the snail bank is quite beautiful, both as instruction, and as a kind of meditation. Even without understanding German, I felt like I understood the process.
