Food embossing…

Wpizza200I’m not sure why I like this, perhaps it’s because I’d like to put text/code on edible things at all the conferences – then eat them. This company makes food embossing gear, I really like the pizza roller, you roll it along and it makes text in the dough, then you bake it. You could automate it, and put RSS feeds or stock prices on them, but that might be going too far. Link.

Designing the Taxi exhibition

Designing the Taxi exhibition

TaxiThe Design Trust for Public Space, in cooperation with Parsons The New School for Design, presents Designing the Taxi, an exhibition that builds on the momentum of the extraordinarily successful two-part workshop held last spring that investigated the future of the iconic New York City taxicab as it approaches its centennial in 2007. The exhibition of designs presenting future ideas for the taxi will be on view from November 3, 2005, through January 15, 2006, at the Parsons gallery at 2 West 13th Street. An opening reception will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 6-9 p.m., which will also celebrate the publication of the Designing the Taxi findings. Link.

Lego pinball machine…

Img 8911A Maker writes “OK, this has to be the CRAZIEST Lego project ever built. For real. From what the father of the idea said today in the Lugnet Robotics List, it involves +20.000 bricks and 13 RCX units that communicate in 2 communication chambers each with a seperate program. Build time was +300 hours. It runs on NQC software and it’s ALL Lego, except for the ball. Built by Gerrit Bronsveld and Martijn Boogaarts.” [via] Link.
