Geoblogging audio and video…

Gedel-1
Rev Dan Catt is up to some neat stuff – In much the same way you can add audio (.mp3) and video (.mov) links. Geobloggers places audio and video in enclosure tags in its RSS and geoRSS feeds, making it possible to easily use geobloggers to create your own Podcasting feeds. Needless to say this turns PodCasting sideways. You don’t need to subscribe to single users or site, you can subscribe to an area around your home, regardless of who the podcaster is. Same of course applies to Video, again a How To is coming up. All this throws out to Google Earth, CSV and normal RSS too. Link.

IPic – A Match Head Sized Web-Server

Ipic The single chip computer on the site runs the iPic web-server, the world’s tiniest implementation of a TCP/IP stack and a HTTP web-server. The chip is a complete micro-computer, and it includes all components of a complete computer on a single tiny micro-chip (this includes the CPU (central processing unit), memory, serial port interface circuitry, and clock oscillator). DIY Tube Traps

DIY Tube Traps

Trap4 If you’re really in to audio- here’s how to make your own tube traps. Given the level of interest in these DIY tube traps I put together a brief tutorial for the relatively simple process for constructing these excellent tube traps. While I obtained good results I am in no means an expert on this subject so don’t hesitate to experiment or make changes. Link.

Disable DivX Logo Watermark

Disable DivX Logo Watermark

Mediablab-Logo-150 MAKE pal Jake has a good HOW TO – By default every movie encoded using Dr. DivX or the newer DivX Create Bundle displays a watermark during the first few seconds of playback. In theory this is great free advertising for DivX which introduces a bunch of new eyes to their encoding product. Who knows if it actually works. Occasionally that watermark gets in the way of things like subtitles but it’s generally harmless. If you’re annoyed by it, DivX offers a fairly simple method for making it go away. Link.

Review of technical video rentals…

Videocap 1073 I’ve been meaning to try them out- this sounds great…The cool thing is there are several videos on there that I’ve always wanted to buy from my car parts and restoration catalogs. My first two selections are both from the Welding Section since I’m planning on picking up a MIG welder within the next couple of weeks. I also really like their blog where they interview real customers to find out about their projects and announce new videos. Link.
