Here’s a neat web-distributed movie called THE.SCENE. NYU student Brian Sandro has a secret: he and his friends pirate hundreds of millions of dollars of illicit Hollywood movies in their spare time. They are revered, reviled, hunted and admired. No one knows who they are – at least, not as far as they know. Catchy music, uses screen captures and IMs as part of the action. Link.

As you ooh and aah at the dazzling explosions of a fireworks display, there are three things going on that you probably wouldn’t guess: The chemists who made those pyrotechnics designed most of them so they wouldn’t explode, you’re actually seeing nature conserving energy, and most peculiar of all, when things are at their flashiest, you’re actually seeing the fireworks as they’re cooling down. To see the graphics, ctrl click iTunes->show package contents/ Contents/ Resources-> iTunes.rsrc, Click once on the file and hit command + D. Drag iTunes copy.rsrc to the desktop. While still in the resources folder, open the folder titled English.lproj. Highlight the “Localized.rsrc” file and hit Command + D and drag Localizedcopy.rsrc to the desktop. Next, download the Resorcerer 2.4.1 Demo (Or any other Resource viewing App) . In the application, locate the iTunescopy.rsrc and Localizedcopy.rsrc files now on your dektop and use the ID #s in my picture to locate them in Resorcerer. Hope that helps. Link.

A MAKE Flickr Photo pool member made an amazing Redwood version of the iPod by hand. It looks like he just took his iPod apart and carefully fabricated a redwood version of iPod frame, later adding a clear coat to it and reassembling it. I’ve seen wood iPod docks, but I think this is the best actual wood iPod to hit the scene so far.
