School Bus Conversion
This is the raw material for my school bus conversion project it’s a 1989 Thomas Saf-T-Liner MVP with a rear mounted CAT 3208 engine. It was originally built for 75 Passengers with a GVWR 30,000 lbs. It’s got about 80K miles on it and originally came from Montrose, NY. The interior dimensions are 35′ x 7.5′ x 6.5′ Over the next several months I will be converting this old school bus into a family camper and documenting each step of the conversion process here. Thanks Jake! Link.
“Unfortunately, Verizon Wireless cripples their phones so that you have to use their fee-based service in order to add new ringtones, or to transfer the pictures you take with the camera. The Verizon logo conceals the date display on the main screen and covers over the top portion of the background, among various other corporate silliness. Selling a device that is intentionally crippled is just plain ridiculous. Of course, the only natural thing to do in a situation like this is to hack it.” [
These instructions are intended to make a cutter for expanded polystyrene foam sheets of 5cm thickness. The cutter is suitable for cutting wind turbine blade sections designed using the club cycom software. Only use to cut polystyrene foam since other materials (such as polyurethane foam) will give off toxic fumes.
There are many situations where you might need a small amount of electricity: running gate openers, safety lights, water level indicators and other low-power devices, for example. This site shows how to make a simple Savonius wind turbine to power a gate opener.

Great reference. Tao of Mac writes “I’ve decided to put up a short tutorial on generating KML data for Google Earth – anyone with PHP installed should be able to use these simple techniques to layer their own data atop Google Earth from nothing but a CSV file, and build up from there”.
