Even if you own one of the newer smart TVs, you’ll want the new NeTV from Chumby. Out of the box it can use an Android handset as a controller (iOS soon). Enter a website in an app on the phone and have it show up on your TV in a WebKit browser.
Laurent Laveder is a landscape astrophotographer. No, really. That’s his job! OK, he’s also an astronomy journalist, if that makes you feel any better. But it’s his amazing astrophotography, especially his series called Moon Games, that really inspires awe… and lots of FB/G+ reposting.
Your smartphone is no DSLR, but chances are it’s the camera you’re carrying with you almost everywhere you go. We’ve seen many DIY smartphone tripod mounts, some clever, some not so much. The Glif being a prime example of a clever design. Of course there’s more than one way to do it, so it was just a matter of time before something just a clever came along. The Orbit is a swiveling smartphone suction mount in the final stages of development, and from the looks of it, seems to be a pretty versatile mounting device.

This cool camera desk lamp by Kirsty would make a perfect piece of decor for a photobug’s home or office. And because the legs of the tripod are adjustable, you can place it on your desk or use it as a floor lamp. Kirsty calls this her first draft of the lamp, but she’s “super chuffed” with how it turned out. We’re looking forward to seeing future iterations, Kirsty!
