I am grateful for many things at this time of year.
I am grateful that the world is full of makers and I am amazed by what they do, the ingenious projects they create and how they give of themselves to their community.
I am grateful that we have been able to see Maker Faire Bay Area flourish again. I’m happy to see wonderful Maker Faires in cities like Milwaukee, Louisville, and Orlando and around the world in Rome, Tokyo, Shenzhen prosper as well — coming up this weekend is Maker Faire Taipei. It’s great once again to get together to enjoy each other’s projects and see the smiles on the faces of so many people.
I am grateful to our readers of Make: Magazine as well as our many contributors of articles and projects. I am looking forward to our 20th Anniversary issue this year.
I am happy for this website, although it needs improvement.
I am grateful to our book authors and our new books, such as Electronic Music from Scratch by Kirk Pearson, Skill Seeker – Maker Edition by Steph Piper, the Complete Guide to Tinkercad by Lydia Sloane Cline, and the Math Teacher’s Supplement by Joan Horvath and Rich Cameron.
I am grateful that we have over 500 investors in our community round on Wefunder. It is incredible to read comments from our investors about what Make and Maker Faire have meant to them. It’s helping us plan for the future.
If I could somehow gather all of you for a feast at Thanksgiving, I would.
At my home, there will be 18 family and friends gathered around our table. I love doing the cooking. For them and for all of you, I wish you good health and the gift of happiness that we can bring to others and that they bring to each of us. Enjoy the feast!
