Here’s a good resource for making an cell phone LCD in to a small display that gets its data from the parallel port. pcd8544-based displays can be found in some monochrome nokia-cellphones. With some technical skills, an independant, small display with background light can be gained out of these phones at hardly any costs. Link.
On June 14, sixspace will experience an invasion with RUBIKCUBISM – a logical exhibition by French artist Invader featuring mosaics, video installation, and both small and large-scale sculptures. For the past five years, Invader has conducted worldwide “invasions” with custom site-specific mosaic pieces based on the 1978 video game “Space Invaders” created by Toshiro Nishikado.
