I’m excited to be kicking off our Gift Guide Singularity series with a project I’ve wanted to do for years — build a motorized, microcontrolled Strandbeest walker. I plan to give it to a close friend who’s also a robot enthusiast. I’ll run through how I’m planning to approach the build and will follow up with some posts on my progress.
Starting off with a spacetime acceleration toward a goodness infinity, we’re launching a countdown to the Make: Gift Singularity. Between now and Christmas we’ll be presenting gift project ideas that you can build given the time available. So, projects that take longer will be posted first, giving you enough time to make them and gift them to your intended, followed by increasingly easier/quicker projects.
