Michael Mitchel recently shared his tutorial on how to use DFU Programmer to update the firmware on the Atmega8U2, which, according to the Arduino documentation, “acts as a bridge between the computer’s USB port and the main processor’s serial port” on the Uno.
Muris sent us a link to his homemade all-in-one turntable/intervalometer for taking 360 degree object photographs automatically. The system runs from a PC, running an interface program Muris wrote himself, through a single USB port. Both turntable position and camera shutter are automatically controlled.
At an RCA event Oscar Lhermitte had the idea to mount a camera to an electric drill and record the outcome, dubbed “Seeing in Circles.” With the camera recording at 15 fps and the drill spinning 20 times per second, the resulting image turns whatever the camera is pointed at into a swirling kaleidoscopic video.
