I love the concept behind the Bay Area Workshop Weekend event — take the inspiration and enthusiasm generated from Maker Faire Bay Area and present a series of workshops the follow weekend so that folks can learn what they say at the Faire. Nearly 100 people did just that, on May 28 and 29.
This is from a while back, but a friend turned me on to this great tutorial for sewing cut chenille. I never knew you could make your own chenille! It looks pretty laborious, but the end result is so pretty and cozy to boot! The process shots are gorgeous–well worth a look.
