Looking for a smartphone remote app for your robot project? Look no further than the new Cellbots app for Android. The gang over at Cellbots.com have been busy creating an accessible and full-featured controller app with multiple modes for maximum flexibility. The app works with iRobot Create, LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Pro, and, of course, custom Arduino cellbots.

The site is a little vague on the details, but whatever they’ve got going on should ultimately drive down the price tag. Add an approachable way to program it and you’d have yourself one heck of a low-cost robotics platform.

Cellbot contributor Jason has scaled things up a bit with his Boxbot. Designed using SketchUp and output on a CNC ShopBot, the Boxbot uses $10 worth of MDF and a couple of $16 windshield wiper motors to drive its wheels.
