Here’s a great collection of tools, projects and Flickr toys via the Flickr blog – the latest one really looks fun. Mediamatic held another in their series of Flickr event in Amsterdam on September 19th. Called Playing Flickr v2.0, the event was held in the city’s Post CS building and involved attendees SMSing tags to a server which then displayed photos matching those tags on a series of giant screens. Flickr user slabbers grabbed the shot at right of one of his own photos appearing on screen. Link.

San Francisco, Sept. 24-25 at the Webzine 2005 Independent Online Publishing Conference MAKE’s Phil Torrone will have a session about hacking many popular consumer electronic devices : High quality audio recording on old iPods, run new games, mod firmware, fun stuff. Digital camera hacks, from the reuse of the “disposable” cameras to modding digital cameras for projects. PSPs, Gameboys and more along with a trip from Maker past to Maker future in an action packed warranty voiding DRM busting session. Link.

We’re working with a partner to put together a focus group session about technology-related projects and the projects you Make on your time. In this session, we will be brainstorming new ideas and getting your feedback on possible future concepts. This session is hosted by MAKE magazine but conducted by an outside focus group facilitator and is designed to get creative ideas about how the marketplace can better serve your needs. The focus group will be held in San Francisco this Saturday, Sept 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All qualified participants will be compensated for their time. Link.

A few weeks ago I was at O’Reilly’s Foo camp and while I thought I saw a lot of interesting things, took photos and met a lot of people- this write up from the son of one of the folks there is perhaps the best one I’ve read.
