Autodesk expands its cadre of useful digital tools by acquiring EAGLE, a popular free to use print circuit board (PCB) site.
The site Open Electronics recently posted a step-by-step guide to using the EAGLE PCB design software to make your own custom Arduino Shields.
EagleUp is the work of Swiss design engineer Jerome Lamy. It runs inside SketchUp and requires co-installation of ImageMagick. The script will automatically generate a 3D model of a printed circuit board from an image exported by Cadsoft Eagle, then populate it with preexisting component models.
I’m doing my 2nd Arduino project (and 2nd electronics project ever) and am trying to design some of the circuit stuff on computer instead of just wiring it up or scribbling some stuff on paper. I’m trying out Fritzing and am wondering if you have any other suggestions for software that can be used for breadboard, schematic and/or PCB design.
