HOW TO – The Super POV, the video!
Remember the cool Bluetooth enabled POV project (spells words in the air with light) that Mikey Sklar made? Well, he was kind enough to let us put an excellent 3 minute video in our iTunes video podcast feed. This week’s video on the Manufacturers’ Blog is how electricity is made “…it comes to us courtesy of the good people down at Mississippi Power (part of the Southern Company). It’s a video of their “Plant Daniel”, near Escatawpa, Mississippi. Here you’ll see machines that generate a million kilowatts of electricity, a plant that burns (cleanly) 500,000 pounds of coal per hour, heating water to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit to make energy for all of us to use. In all, this one plant produces 9 billion kilowatt hours of energy per year.”

Douglas writes “I finally got one of the first videos up. This was the first attempt at flying the plane with the (hacked CVS disposable video) camera attached. I need to work on the balance of the plane a little more, it tends to be back heavy. This is just a short video I took in a big field, I flew some circles and you can see me and the jeep but most everything else is just a big boring field. Once I get the balance down I will fly over something more interesting”…
