Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth โ a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the maker movement.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. Colorado may be home to skiers and snowboarders, but earlier this month the makers came out to play. The NoCo Mini Maker Faire brought these innovators together at Coloradoโs first Maker Faire event. Makers set up shop in Loveland, Colo., for Saturdayโs event, and curious attendees eagerly arrived from across the state.

Sunday was the East Bay Mini Maker Faire at Park Day School. I liked it because there are lots of activities for kids to make and do things – even more than the big Maker Faire in San Mateo. My favorites were Riveropolis, Nerdy Derby and Hoop Play. I also really liked the crate stacking.
More than two years after creating and hosting the first Atlanta Mini Maker Faire, I’m going back for the third annual show this Saturday, and I’m extremely excited to see how it’s grown. It’s free to attend and takes place on Georgia Tech’s beautiful campus, so there’s really no reason not to come.
