It’s a simple Ashford Flick Card. I have had my eye on a pair of $60 hand carders for a while, but this flick card was less than $20, so I went for it. The card is basically a brush with thin, sharp, bent teeth. I found the tool at my local feed store, not the craft store.
Instructables user BrianH replaced the nickel-cadmium (NiCd) factory cells in his cordless drill with nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) cells. He reports much longer useful lifetime for the drill between charges after the upgrade.
A homemade CNC machine build using mostly off the shelve parts.The first one aka “The beast” had a lot of precision issues due to play in most parts which in turn was caused by mostly bad cutting. Also one of the biggest problems was that when I have build it I did not think to allow later adjustments to be done. So this time almost every part of it allows for some adjustments. It is also easier to build due to the different design.
The piano maker who assembled this incredible toolkit died in 1925. His name was H.O. Studley. A poster is available through Fine Woodworking magazine. I resisted all kinds of “Studley chest” puns in titling this article. I hope you appreciate it.

Only a handful of these “pilot wheel” engraver’s vises were custom made by the late John Madole. The wheel is turned to tighten or loosen the massive ball joint, allowing the user to set the precision jaws at any convenient angle.
