James Austin
James Austin forges custom metalwork and teaches historical blacksmithing in Oakland, California. He served a 6-year blacksmithing apprenticeship in Bavaria in the 1980s and now does research in Scandinavia and Europe on traditional methods of forging pre-industrial tools. He’s also got a background in chemistry and a general love for fermentation and food making.
