The 2013 Maker Faire season is almost over, but not without a fair from our friends in Twente in the Netherlands. The fair is set for this weekend, Nov. 23-24.

We’re in the operations command center for a briefing from SANParks officials. The scene is hectic. The rest is bad news. We’re in a full moon period—the most active time for poaching—and a fresh rhino carcass had been discovered.
Walt Disney famously said, “the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” That’s the journey some 65 teams in the Make-GE Robot Hack have undertaken. In just a few short weeks their small steps became a running stampede. The final Robot Hack is tomorrow.
A tripod is the most common way to stabilize a camera. But there are a few situations where a regular tripod is very impractical. In this project, I show you how to make a small table top articulated camera stand from a desk lamp and a few piece of scrap wood. This lets you get pictures from any height and just about any angle. Its a great tool for documenting your DIY projects.
