Using an old paint brush and some conductive thread, Benites recreates a traditional paint brush stylus that works with modern capacitive touch screen devices such as tablets and handsets for a fraction of the cost of a commercial version.

EEG on a Smartphone

A group from the Technical University of Denmark cobbled together a portable EEG using an Emotiv EPOC neuroheadset, a wireless dongle, and a Nokia N900 smartphone. Using custom software, the unit will render a real-time OpenGL representation of live data from the headset.

In the meantime you can occupy yourself with this proof-of-concept video showing Android running on the device. The team says they’re still working on the touchscreen driver and have resorted to a “blatant publicity stunt” in order to get their hands on more TouchPads for testing.
