Clock shows video of dude erasing and redrawing hands every minute
Man, this is awesome: This clock is actually an LED screen looping a video of the designer manually redrawing the minute hand every minute, in real time, for an hour. I guess the hour hand is probably moved digitally. Would be kinda scary if he actually stood there and redrew the hands manually every minute for a full 12 hours. I don’t know much about the designer; just that the video was filmed “at Design Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach 2009” and posted to YouTube by A3Network. Old school bluetooth handset
Maker Jarek Lupinski recently came across some older phones his school was recycling and decided to build this utilitarian bluetooth handset using an old bluetooth headset and some chunky buttons.
Cardboard taxidermy
If, like me, you’ve been stressing out about where to find a cardboard rhino head before Xmas, I bring glad tidings: Ye need look no further than Cardboard Safari. They also have cardboard moose heads, deer heads, whole rhinoceri, and, predictably, rocket ships.
Cement-impregnated fabric
Although they could probably use some more exciting branding, Concrete Cloth from the UK’s Concrete Canvas company is a pretty cool idea. The cloth, which is draped over forming members and then set by exposure to water (as, for instance, from rain), has a projected lifespan of 10 years.
