It’s always interesting to see what people will do to go out of their way to get what they want. For instance, take this iPad MiFi mod from Jared of LMG Satellite. There’s absolutely no need to do this. Both devices will talk to each other over WiFi. But if you’ve got the itch, by all means, scratch away.

It is a kind of hydraulic novelty, in which the action of falling water causes a stream of water to spurt up higher than its source, which is counterintuitive for many.
