After 10 months of work and support from a volunteer team of parents and community members, a group of students from Mater Dei High School in Evansville, Ind. recently recently won the Shell Eco-marathon Americas competition for an ultra high MPG vehicle. At 849 MPG, I’d say that’s pretty high. They also won the grand prize winner in AutoZoneโs Show It off, America social media contest. The safest, most versatile and inexpensive way to make a costume sword is by way of foam or cardboard. Both can be easily obtained and are lightweight, but cardboard is easier to cut-out, layer with multiple designs and color with spray paint. A cardboard sword can become as over-the-top or simplistic as you want at barely any cost or time.
