Last Saturday was the first ever Mini Maker Faire for Nashville, TN and by all accounts it was very successful.
Maker Education is such a valuable role. These stories will bring you the latest information and tales of maker educators who area spreading the maker mindset. Help others learn how to make things or how to think like a maker at makerspaces, schools, universities, and local communities. The importance of maker education can not be understated. Emma Willard School in Troy, NY is staging a Mini Maker Faire, the first of four events celebrating the school’s 200th anniversary.
All through Maker Faire last weekend the team from ImageThink were working to illustrate the talks as they happened on the Innovation Stage. Graphically recording what was going on in each talk they tracked the flow of the conversation with high-speed drawing.
It’s not just Maker Faire here in New Yorkโit’s Maker Weekโand there are a huge number of side-events, panels, and hackathons going on around the city. As part of this Atmel hosted a makers in education panel.

Brooklyn Robot Foundry is doing some amazingly whimsical things with robotics and young makers. Stop by and check out some of the wonderful robotic creations conjured up by Brooklyn Robot Factory’s fledgling engineers at the Young Makers tent in Zone C!
Maker Faire gets bigger and better every year! We’ve expanded our outside exhibits into the new Zone E. It’s past the Maker Shed and through the gates, next to the Science Playground. There’s lots of cool fun for kids, but not just for kids! Be sure to check it out.
