Ten contestants consisting of individuals or groups of makers were given the challenge of designing their Ultimate Maker Vehicle using a 2014 Ford Transit Connect. Makers were given an imaginary budget and certain build constraints, while being encouraged to define what is “ultimate” to them as a blueprint for a potential vehicle.
After one month of voting by the public, the three top-tier finalists were examined by a panel of judges. The criteria included the overall Design, unique Customizations, and Maker Spirit embedded within the proposed vehicle.
We’re pleased to announce Hackmobile by Twin Cities makers Jon Atkinson, Becca Steffen, Riley Harrison, and Michael Freiert as the winners of the first ever Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge.
