LED CHUTIES Come to Maker Faire
Eureka! LED CHUTIES are born one rainy day, from minds of Paul and Lee at Soldering Sunday.
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth — a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the maker movement.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these people come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Vancouver-based artist, maker, and educator Emily Smith is a woman on a mission to unite the makers in her community. Four years ago, she took it upon herself to get folks together to create the first Vancouver Mini Maker Faire. We spoke with Emily to find out what inspired her, and what effect it’s had on the local community.
It seems like every single day I read about a new report, initiative, competition, or program geared toward getting more women involved in science, or investigating why there are not more women in science to begin with. If you want to see girls in science making themselves and everyone around them proud, then get thee to a Maker Faire!
Sunday was the East Bay Mini Maker Faire at Park Day School. I liked it because there are lots of activities for kids to make and do things – even more than the big Maker Faire in San Mateo. My favorites were Riveropolis, Nerdy Derby and Hoop Play. I also really liked the crate stacking.
More than two years after creating and hosting the first Atlanta Mini Maker Faire, I’m going back for the third annual show this Saturday, and I’m extremely excited to see how it’s grown. It’s free to attend and takes place on Georgia Tech’s beautiful campus, so there’s really no reason not to come.
The Bay Area Maker Faire season ended on a high note this weekend with fairs in Santa Rosa and Oakland. The kid-centric fairs were packed and drew makers from across the Bay Area and beyond. Here’s a look at what went down in photos.
I came to the East Bay Mini Maker Faire today with an agenda. I wanted to radicalize my son and his friends to the ways of making.
