Dsc05179-1
There’s a somewhat little know and often-unused function of iPod called “Notes” which can actually be quite handy for storing and reading text, creating a locked “kiosk mode”, quizzes, games as well a full-length ebooks. Here’s our how-to on making them!…

Green lasers, red balloons and robot dogs…

Green lasers, red balloons and robot dogs…

Dsc05105 Lots of times I’ll start a project and get a little sidetracked. Here’s a good example. I’m working on a write up of a high powered green laser, but I wanted to test out which colors of balloons would pop with the laser, I was pretty sure that the red ones would (and did) but the pink ones seem to pop sometimes, and the purples ones were also popable. Sony Librie Hacking

Dsc05050

The bad news is, the ebook format is some wacky DRM Sony put on it, so you can’t get any ebooks on it you own. But with some firmware hacks, converters and the step by step how-to I’m writing up you can- it’ll take me awhile, there’s lots to do- but for now here are some photos of some tests (MAKE Blog and Cory Doctorow eBooks so far…)

Digital Camera Interface

Digital Camera Interface

Getting a computer to “talk” with a CMOS camera can be difficult, if not impossible, at times. The site has links to PDF files that contain the schematics and theory of operation. There is also a link containing all the code. It’s a nice solution to a common problem. The aim of this project is […]
