From its educational institutions with strengths in engineering and design to its innovative culture of startups, the people of Providence have been hard at work making things for centuries. We’re grateful, excited, and humbled that Mayor Angel Taveras has honored the Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire and the Providence maker community with this proclamation.
Today is AS220′s annual Foo Fest, and in addition to the AS220 Labs Fab Lab, as well as many artists and musicians you’ll see, the Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire has a table set up where you can get information about the Faire, and have your picture, er, point cloud taken with a Kinect connected to a Mac running Kyle McDonald’s KinectToStl. RI Mini Maker Faire will be here until 5:30, so come down soon!
