Google Talk – Tons of screenshots…

Talk Logo
OK, here’s the actual Google Talk client. It’s pretty nice, does IM, can email contacts very quickly (Gmail) and the VOIP feature is crystal clear. The freaky part- Google Talk uses the same voice technology as Skype it seems, but uses an open standard for IM. I’m working on a way to record for podcasts, we’ll see how that goes…You can get the Google Talk client for PCs here HACK: The play numbers on the about screen translate to, “wumpusgame”… so, “play wumpusgame” If you invite wumpus.game@gmail.com and IM that user, “play” you can play ‘HUNT THE WUMPUS’ and finally – here are all the screenshots…

The OEM software is nearly useless, but there’s a homemade replacement, called UsbWiSec – here’s the HOW TO…

MSN Filter is a new blog destination that has some pretty good posts about tech, music, etc (but no one knows who is posting). Since it was MSN I was assuming this would be a channel I could add to my MSN Direct SPOT Watch. SPOT is a watch that can get news, stock, weather, messages and more. Since it wasn’t an option to add MSN Filter, this calls for a HOW TO! – here’s how to get MSN filter content or any news via RSS on a SPOT watch…

HOW TO CVS Video Camera Hacking for PC & Macs

cvsMAKE pal Mr.Bill has a great HOW TO for us on CVS Video Camera Hacking for Macs…Shortly after the cameras became available at my local store, I picked one up for “safekeeping”, not knowing how long they’d be available. I’m glad I did, because progress was being made in finding out exactly what made the new cameras tick, and the Camera Hacking message boards were abuzz with discussions about the software. A week ago, I saw on the MAKE: Blog that someone had finally figured out the final step to getting video off the camera. Time to dig the camera out of the closet- here’s the HOW TO!…
